Johnny G’s 2015 WGC Cadillac Championship at Doral Fantasy Golf Picks

Last Weeks Recap:   Terrible. Worst week of the year with only 2 golfers making the cut.  Not many fantasy golf points at all.  Need to rebound this week at the year’s first WGC event being held in sunny Florida.

WGC @ Doral Fantasy Golf Expert Picks

1. Joost Luiten – Not many have even heard of Joost, but he is a solid ball striker who is a Ryder Cup caliber player for the Euros. Anyone that even makes this event means they are a quality golfer. Right Tiger?  Look for a good showing this week.

2. Patrick Reed – The defending champ is looking more and more like the best US golfer under 30.  Not sure what that is saying about the state of our 2016 Ryder Cup chances, but nonetheless Reed is looking to be the best player in the world.  First he needs a major, but this would be close.

3. Matt Kuchar – Mr. Steady should be good for another top 5. I am shocked he does not win more than he does.  These bigger tournaments now should be getting Kuchar ready for the big time events of the spring and summer.

4. Martin Kaymer – Big time player in big time events. The defending US Open champion is one of the best players in the world when all is right.  A strong performance here and look for him to be a favorite at Augusta.

With roughly a quarter of the golf year over, it is time to make up some ground in my fantasy golf league. I am falling behind and need a few victories to catch up.

Puerto Rico Open – Also being played this week since many pros do not play at Doral, I look for a good showing from Tommy Gainey. He is overdue and has the potential to win every week.  His status on tour will be in jeopardy if he does not start playing better in the next year.

Johnny Giovonni

Hi, my name is Johnny Giovonni. I am in the financial services industry and own my own business on the side. I work too much and golf too little. That is why I helped create this site, so I could at least have the dream of golfing everyday. Also, I am a huge numbers person and have researched many advanced gaming theories and other nerd stuff like the Rule of 72 and Benford's Law. When I am not working I am either golfing, watching sports, or researching statistics for my weekly and daily fantasy picks. I am under full belief there is an enormous advantage to be had with information when picking your lineups every week. I hope to bring that knowledge to this website. I look forward to writing and responding to your comments. Check out some of our course reviews, fantasy sports picks and as always, provide any feedback!
