What another performance from Jason Day, which should allow him to be on the betting favorites not only this week at the WGC Match Play, but next month down at Augusta. I was hoping Stenson would pull it out, but it was still a great fantasy week with 6/6 golfers making the cut!




The match play is a tricky beast. Catch a hot player and even the best in the world can lose. Obviously the top 5 guys in the world are the favorites, but rarely it ever happens they face off in the final four, let alone the final two. So that means there is always a Danny Willet out there, who by the way is ranked much higher than he was here last year.

Here are a few guys I like this week.

Paul Casey – One of the most talented players who was often hurt. I think a healthy Casey still gets a major one day.
Rickie Fowler – He is sick of the talk about Rory, Day, and Spieth. He belongs in that crowd. But you gotta win a major Rickie.
Hideki Matsuyama – One of the best ball strikers on tour, he is lingering around that top 20 in the world area where if he wins I would not be surprised. Also, he finished 5th in the Masters last year, so call him my early good value play for this year.
