Johnny G’s MLB DraftKings & FanDuel Home Run Predictions 6-23-17

It’s a full 15 game main slate for Friday, June 23, 2017.  Wood hosts the Rockies.  Strasburg hosts the Reds.  King Felix is back.  Darvish & Tanaka will battle it out.  It should be a fun start to the weekend.

Johnny G invites the MLB experts from Hammer DFS to take an early look at who they predict will go deep to help you fill out your rosters on DraftKings and FanDuel.

Up and down your squad, everyone needs home runs in their DFS lineups.  From your high-priced stars hitting value with one swing to your low-owned, minimum-priced punt helping you take down a big dollar contest, we all dig the long ball.  The experts will be digging through the match-ups and stats to find players in good spots and sharing them with you.

If you need more than a four-bagger to get your bankroll growing, Hammer DFS has a full-service chat to get you back on track.  Check out a sample of what their members pulled in recently:

Here are Johnny G’s Home Run predictions for 6/23/17:

Garret: Justin Bour is crushing the ball right now.  He has 45.9% hard contact this year and 32.7 % HR/FB.  12 of his 18 homers this year one against RHP , no surprise there.  He gets a struggling John Lackey who’s pitching like he’s already retired, eating fried chicken and drinking beer on a beach in Cozumel.  Lackey is pitching to a 37.8 % Hard Contact and giving up 2.21 HR/9 and a 22% HR/FB

Alex: Joey Votto is 3-11 vs Strasburg.  Votto has been hot in June with 6 Hrs; 4 of which came off RHP.  Votto also has a 44% hard hit and 40% fly ball rate vs RHP.  Strasburg has struggled with LHH over his last 4 starts giving up 4 HRs and allowing a .414 wOBA.

Chris: Am I reading this right?  Brett Gardner is 5 for 11 vs. Yu Darvish with 4 home runs??  He’s not exactly on a heater right now, but those BvP stats are hard to ignore if you’re into that sort of thing.  I’m somewhere in the middle of the BvP debate.  It has its flaws, but can provide valuable information in certain scenarios.  He’s fairly cheap, leads off, stole a base last night.  I’ll get some exposure to him tonight.

If you want some decent BvP mixed with better recent form, look up Carlos Gomez.  Gomez is on fire since returning from the DL.  He has 5 dongs in 6 games since missing a month with an injury.  He had 4 home runs on the entire season when he hit the DL May 16th.  He’s 3 for 5 against Tanaka with 2 steals.  Tanaka studied some tape and thinks he has things figured out, but overall he has been a mess this season, giving up 1.76 HR/9.
