Johnny G’s CareerBuilder Challenge DraftKings PGA Lineup 2016

Are you ready to see some birdies being made? I hope so, because it will take at least -20 to win this week at the CareerBuilder Challenge. Even with the change of courses being played, these guys are too good to not score well on par 72 courses that are just a bit over 7000 yards.

As the PGA Tour enters California for the first time this calendar season, it will be interesting to see how the ban on the anchored stroke plays out in the first handful of events this year. It does not appear to be slowing down the previous anchored guys yet. Also, we will be on rookie of the year watch as there are many talented rookies playing well so far.

Looking at this event, you have to go very low in order to win. Patrick Reed opened with 3 straight 63’s a few years ago and still barely hung on for victory. It would not surprise me to see him up there again this week.

Charley Hoffman is another guy who plays great here and is a great west coast player in general. The defending champ Bill Haas is one of the steadier players out there and always a decent 50/50 DraftKings PGA pick.

With respect to the younger talent, I like Smylie Kaufman and Peter Malinati to have great years this year. Depending on their salaries this week, they could be quality choices for your fantasy lineup.

Of the other possible solid plays this week, take a look at Kevin Streelman and Robert Streb, as neither get the respect they deserve in most fantasy golf contests.

Once the official salaries become available we will get the official lineup posted.

1Patrick Reed12400When 2 rounds will be played on a course with no historical data, I think the hottest golfer in the world right now is worth the money this week.
2Charley Hoffman9200Last 3 years at this tourney: 2nd, 9th, 10th. If he gets better every year, that means the Green Machine wins it, right?
3Francisco Molinari8700Here's our accuracy play. Molinari keeps it in the fairway which plays especially well here.
4Brendon de Jonge7100BDJ is a birdie machine and that's what we're looking for here.
5Pat Perez66008 of 10 cuts made in this tournament, including a win.
6Chad Collins6000Made the cut 5 of 6 times here. That's good enough for a punt.
