Johnny G’s 4-9-18 MLB DraftKings & FanDuel Home Run Predictions

Welcome to the 2018 edition of the Home Run Predictions article.  We’re on our second spin through rotations, so we’ll start to see some batter trends emerge and data start to become somewhat trustworthy now.  The focus this year remains the same; you won’t see guys like Bryce Harper and Nolan Arenado at Coors Field in these articles.  Those are obvious picks on any day.  You don’t need an article to tell you to roster those guys.  We’ll try to dig a little deeper and find bats that will be lower owned to help push your lineups past the chalk pack.

Monday, April 9th has three early games on the MLB schedule followed by a 10 game main slate.

Johnny G invites the MLB experts from Hammer DFS to take an early look at who they predict will go deep to help you fill out your rosters on DraftKings and FanDuel.

Up and down your squad, everyone needs home runs in their DFS lineups.  From your high-priced stars hitting value with one swing to your low-owned, minimum-priced punt helping you take down a big dollar contest, we all dig the long ball.  The experts will be digging through the match-ups and stats to find players in good spots and sharing them with you.

If you need more than a four-bagger to get your bankroll growing, Hammer DFS has a full-service chat to get you back on track.  Check out a sample of some of their hits:Hammer wins Fanduel contest

Here are Johnny G’s Home Run predictions for 4/9/18:

It’s not the best park for dongs, but I want a piece of Derek Holland while he’s still on a major league roster.  A.J. Pollock is off to a good start this season, hitting .343 so far.  He went yard for the first time Sunday, but of his 12 hits this year, eight have been extra bases (6 doubles, 1 triple, 1 dong).  Pollock has never faced Holland, but the early pop in his bat and Holland’s 2.1 HR/9 mark from last season have me willing to take the D-Back’s clean-up hitter.

I told you I wasn’t going to list guys like Bryce Harper in these articles, so I won’t (I’ll assume he’s already in everyone’s lineup).  Julio Teheran has been terrible in his new ballpark.  There’s a jet stream out to right field and Julio carried a 1.68 HR/9 rate last season, so I like all lefty power bats for the Nats tonight.  I’ll be watching and hoping for Matt Adams to be in the lineup.  There’s a little revenge narrative going here if you’re in to that sort of thing (don’t roll your eyes).  But aside from narrative you can’t ignore how well he hit when he came over to SunTrust Park.  He played 100 games for Atlanta and hit 19 home runs.  13 of those were in Atlanta.  He’s only $2700 on FanDuel.

Two more I’ll be considering; Danny Valencia still crushes lefties.  He went deep in the Bronx Sunday and if he gets in the lineup against JA Happ, he’s in play at minimum price on FD.  Speaking of Happ, Ian Happ hasn’t homered since Opening Day.  He’s taken Ivan Nova deep twice in 8 career ABs.
