Recap of the WGC Match Play : Rory gave Johnny G a second straight victory. He did not make it look easy though. Many tough victories and last minute charges allowed McIlroy to show why he is #1 in the world.
The best of the best normally win the Players Championship. I am bringing the big names this week. Here they are:
2015 TPC @ Sawgrass Players Fantasy Golf predictions
1. Rory McIlroy – He wins in bunches. He will not be tired from just playing 5 straight days. Expect Rory to continue his accurate iron play and amazing drives. Win he makes putts he wins. Simple.
2. Jordan Spieth– Arguably the #2 golfer in the world now, Jordan is looking to show the world he is the next greatest US golfer. Move over Tiger it is another 21 year old’s show now. Amazing I am writing that, as I was in high school when the 21 year old Tiger took over the golf world at the 1997 Masters.
3. Jim Furyk- Ole’ Jim is back in the winner’s circle again. He almost got there again this week until a late eagle by McIlroy took him out in the WGC Semi-finals. With his accurate shot making, Furyk is showing no signs of age. His homemade swing is also friendly on the body. Not much violent movement or actions that would cause knee or back injuries. He is still competitive and can win on any single Sunday, including majors.
4. Dustin Johnson– All the guys above have won majors, but not DJ. At least not yet. Johnson has shaken off the rust of coming back from his time away from golf and looks to be one of the favorites to win in any tournament he plays. You cannot deny his distance gives him the advantage on my venues. However, distance alone is not a huge factor at the TPC at Sawgrass. Shorter players have won here plenty of times.
Sleepers and Longshots to Win the 2015 Players Championship
1. Sean O Hair – He is back. After a few years of downright bad golf, he is back and looking to win again. A long shot to some, but here at 3jackalmanac we know he has the skill to be a top 20 player in the world.
2. Ryan Moore – Not a huge long shot to win, but still would be an upset. Moore tends to win lesser events and play well for a few days at the big ones, but never seems to close the deal. Overall, I feel the best is yet to come from Moore.
Some say the Players is the 5th major. If so, expect a lot of hype this week about the US Open and Mickelson’s attempt to complete the career Grand Slam.
Hopefully these 2015 Players Championship fantasy golf predictions help you in your league.
Until next week!
