Recap from Zurich: BIG WEEK! #1 Rose and #4 Day. Big movement in league standings!
Let’s keep the fantasy momentum going with another week of excellent expert golf picks.
On to the next week:
2015 World Golf Championship (WGC) Cadillac Match Play Fantasy Predictions
1. Rory McIlroy – Started year strong. Has had a few good rounds sprinkled in, so he is ready to explode right before the spring – summer peak of the fantasy golf season.
2. Adam Scott – While Scott is not playing his best golf right now, he is too good not to turn the corner and win this week. Expect him to compete and make some longer putts to get into contention.
3. Jordan Spieth – Enough said. Guy took a week off and hopefully is ready to go. I do not expect a Master’s hangover from him, as he seems as tough nosed and willing to grind it out as Eldrick used to be.
4. Jason Day – Coming off a solid finish and a victory here last year, Day is just a few strokes away from winning a US Open. Speaking of which, I hear a guy named Phil is also looking for a US Open…
Sleepers and long shot bets for Match Play Championship
1. Hideki Matsuyama– Still cannot believe his take away is so slow, but he gets it done. Crisp iron striker and good driver of the golf ball. If he putts well he will compete this week for the victory.
2. Ian Poulter – A past champ. A true grinder. Might not be the best stroke play golfer in the world, but in Match Play and Ryder Cup events I will take him day and night.
With the season comping into full swing there are some notable storylines:
1. Is this the beginning of a Spieth – McIlroy 15 year duel? I hope so.
2. What is next for Woods? Outside of top 100 and a T17 at Augusta is seen as improvement. Whats next?
