Last week’s recap: Another great PGA Championship is past us. What an exciting golf year. See it is possible to still have great golf after Tiger Woods. Jason Day has proven himself as maybe part of the new Big 3, matching Rory and Jordan for most of this year. Congrats Mr. Jason Day.
This week brings us to the last week before the FedEx Cup PGA Tour playoffs begin. Below are some of my favorite fantasy golf expert picks for the week. I like a mixture of these guys too for a DraftKings lineup at the Wyndham as well. Here we go!
Wyndham Fantasy Golf Expert Picks
With this being the last week before the 4 week playoff, I expect some people to be playing very desperate to get in. Take a look at the guys on the money list from 120 – 150 to maybe pick a sleeper or long-shot of the week from there. The golfers below are a little more on a conservative side, but also not as well-known, so I hope these guys can help your team this week.
Webb Simpson – The only reason I have him up here is that he plays very well at this tournament. Maybe he is also motivated by the upcoming FedEx Cup to help a mediocre season. Either way, I expect at least a top 10 from Webb this week.
Bill Haas – Haas has quietly been playing quite well. Not great, but well enough to be around come Sunday. In a tournament like this, right before the end of the season, I expect him to sneak up on a few people. Sometimes the quiet guy does get a win.
Kevin Kisner – He is as close as it gets to the winner circle right now. Playing well most of the year, I think this could be the week for Kisner to break through. His solid iron play and tough mental attitude will make it happen. He just needs a few more putts to fall. Update: Not in field.
Martin Laird – I know. I pick him he does terrible and when I don’t pick him he plays well. Take a chance on him this week, as he will be a DraftKing sleeper.
Harris English – A solid ball striker that should normally be near the top of these 2nd tier events. I would have him in my lineup this week if I was you.
Scott Piercy – I like him as a long-shot at the Wyndham, but if he is too expensive I would stay away. While playing well, he is just as liable to not make the cut. Long hitter who can go on a birdie binge though. Update: Not in field.
Kisner and Piercy aren’t even in the field.
Must have been late scratches. Thanks for the heads up. Johnny updated his picks, check them out.
