As The Memorial ends here on Sunday afternoon, most are thinking it is just 2 weeks to the US Open. But let us not forget about the FedEx St Jude Classic this week in Memphis TN. While they do not get many of the top 25 players in the world, there are some big names that seem to play here every year.




As of now, it looks like Dustin Johnson will be the clear cut favorite here and he should be. He has contended most weeks he plays, and with only Koepka and Mickelson the other big names in the field, I think DJ is a must play in most contests this week. This is also the type of tournament where CHIII finds himself in the top 10. He won’t be cheap this week though.

For sleepers this week, I think Carl Petersson and David Toms make great value plays this week with their excellent course history.  Martin Piller has shown some good form of late and looks to continue that in Memphis.

And never count out Lefty, as he is coming off a solid Memorial and has played well. He wants a US Open so bad and uses the previous week to always hone his game.

Dustin Johnson – 12800 –  Guy is a machine. Will be hoisting a major soon.

Brooks Koepka – 11100 – Not much to say, but one of the best players in the field. Should have won a few weeks back.

Carl Pettersson – 6000 – Great track record for 6000.

Troy Merritt – 7100 – With a 2nd in 2014, I love the upside.

John Merrick – 6200 – Really a great history here.  A 2nd place in 2012 and some cuts made recently too.

Robby Shelton – 6700 – Better learn who he is really fast… this Alabama product has turned pro. Roll Tide.
