The NHL has five games on the schedule for Wednesday, November 1st. It should be a fun night of hockey as none of the teams in action have more than five regulation losses except for the Oilers, who are playing better than their record indicates.
Johnny G invites the NHL experts from Hammer DFS to share some of their research and insights to help you build your rosters and cross the money line in your DFS contests.
For a GPP play tonight, I really like the Maple Leafs, specifically the 2nd line. Anaheim doesn’t give up a ton of shots yet they haven’t been as strong defensively as last season. Their focus will be on stopping the Toronto line of Hyman, Matthews, and Nylander. This should allow the Marleau, Kadri, and Komarov line to get a fair amount of scoring chances. Kadri is also on pp1 with Matthews, Bozak, and van Riemsdyk. Any combo of those guys is a good play.
Cash goalie will be a tough choice tonight. They have a tough test against Philly and have lost three in a row, but Corey Crawford has played well. He’s only allowing 2.12 goals per game this season and his save percentage is 17 points higher (.935) than his career average (Possible sign of regression? Sure, but save that notion for a GPP down the road). They’ve had three days off since getting blitzed by the Avalanche and return to home ice.
The Penguins are dreadful on the road, so look for McDavid, Draisaitl, and Maroon to get hot fast and take over the game. Chalky, yes, but exposure could be key to cashing tonight.
Phil Kessel has been hot lately. I’m expecting a point or two from Phil the Thrill in Edmonton.
