Johnny G’s DraftKings PGA Waste Management Phoenix Open Lineup 2016

How bout that weather Sunday at Torrey Pines? This week the PGA Tour goes to Arizona where hopefully the weather is much nicer. The 2016 Waste Management Phoenix Open is here once again on Super Bowl Sunday. The tournament tends to wind down before the kickoff, so you should be able to enjoy your golf and football all on the same day. Two great fantasy sports in one day!

After looking at the field, a few names came to mind. Hopefully we can find another sleeper like we did with KJ Choi last week! I bet not many had him in their lineups. While it was a long-shot, him playing well at Torrey Pines should not have been a total surprise to hardcore golf DFS players.

In last week’s $100,000, $3 entry tournament, only 3% of entrants had all 6 of their golfers make the cut.  Six of the nine golfers priced at $10k and above missed the cut and a 7th, Patrick Reed, withdrew before the final round with an “ankle” injury.  Thanks to KJ and some wild weather, we doubled our money in the GPP and 50/50’s.

The first player that should be a favorite this week is Hideki Matsuyama. He has two solid finishes here of late and is one of the better young players on Tour. Also, look for Kevin Kisner to continue his hot streak. He is no fluke and could win 3 – 5 times this year. I truly believe that.

I also like Ryan Palmer this week. Always a threat here, he should make a ton of birdies.

Graham DeLaet is my sleeper of the week and should be a good value play in the 50/50 contests. Also, Charles Howell III always seems to get rich posting top 20 finishes in these kind of events.

I will have to do more research once the lineup salaries become available and will post the full lineup after that.

Johnny Giovonni

Hi, my name is Johnny Giovonni. I am in the financial services industry and own my own business on the side. I work too much and golf too little. That is why I helped create this site, so I could at least have the dream of golfing everyday. Also, I am a huge numbers person and have researched many advanced gaming theories and other nerd stuff like the Rule of 72 and Benford's Law. When I am not working I am either golfing, watching sports, or researching statistics for my weekly and daily fantasy picks. I am under full belief there is an enormous advantage to be had with information when picking your lineups every week. I hope to bring that knowledge to this website. I look forward to writing and responding to your comments. Check out some of our course reviews, fantasy sports picks and as always, provide any feedback!
