Johnny G’s FanDuel NBA & DraftKings NBA Lineup Picks 1-23-19

The NBA has a beefy 10 game slate on Wednesday, January 23rd.  James Harden missed his fantasy projection for the first time in a very long time, but draws the Knicks as his bounce back opponent.  We should see All-Star Game-caliber defense (i.e., none) when the Hawks visit the Bulls.  The marquee matchup will be the game that starts the evening off: Toronto at Indiana (Kawhi Leonard is out for the Raptors, but still…).

Let’s take an entirely too-early look at the building blocks for the January 18th main slate. More times than not, starting lineup announcements, breaking news, injuries, rest, etc. will affect the value of these plays and impact your roster construction. But, the sooner we can get a feel for the slate and the optimal build, the better.

Are you looking for free DraftKings and FanDuel NBA advice? You came to the right spot. Cash Plays

This one should be painfully obvious to you by now, but when Kyrie Irving is out, Terry Rozier becomes a near must play.  He usually draws the start when Kyrie misses and he’s only $4000 on DraftKings and $4500 on FanDuel in a fantastic matchup against Cleveland.

You know what team has had quite a few players in perfect DFS lineups lately?  The Clippers have.  Since Gallinari has been banged up over the last four games, Tobias Harris has been the go-to guy for Doc Rivers.  Last night was a better matchup and he under-performed a bit, but we’re getting a slight discount tonight ($8000 DK and $7800 FD).  Miami can be vulnerable to the opposing frontcourt.

If you don’t have or want to spend the money on Harris, you can look at Avery Bradley.  He’s $3900 on both sites and continues to log massive minutes.  No doubt he is a low fantasy point/min player, but the playing time has been secure especially since Gallo went down.  What I like, aside from playing time, is he’s taken double digit shot attempts in four straight games.  Plus, the shots are starting to fall; he’s made at least 40% of his field goals in three of four.

GPP Plays

Anthony Davis has been ruled out and Andre Drummond is currently questionable.  If Drummond sits, I’m going to look at Jahlil Okafor and his chances of a repeat performance from Monday when he went 12x against Memphis.  He logged 35 minutes and put up a double-double.  The price increase will scare some away (he’s up to $4600 DK and $5500 FD).  I’m not expecting 12x again, but if the minutes are there and Drummond is not, Okafor will have plenty of room in the paint to collect fantasy points.
