Johnny G’s FanDuel NBA & DraftKings NBA Lineup Picks 1-30-19

We will have an extra half hour to build our lineups as the eight game NBA main slate on Wednesday, January 30th starts at 7:30 pm et.  To the casual fan, the Hawks visiting the Kings may not have much appeal, but to a DFS player, two of the highest paced teams getting together in the biggest implied total on the slate will grab our attention.

Let’s take an entirely too-early look at the building blocks for the January 30th main slate. More times than not, starting lineup announcements, breaking news, injuries, rest, etc. will affect the value of these plays and impact your roster construction. But, the sooner we can get a feel for the slate and the optimal build, the better.

Are you looking for free DraftKings and FanDuel NBA advice? You came to the right spot. Johnny G invites the NBA experts from Hammer DFS to share some of their research and insights to help you build your rosters and cross the money line in your DFS contests. If you want more, we have the perfect DFS lineup consultants as well. Either way, we have you covered for all your fantasy sports needs.

Cash Plays

As I scanned the player pool and matchups, the first urge to lock a player into my cash line occurred when I scrolled to Will Barton.  He played a season-high 36 minutes on Monday and he should be in line for more heavy playing time with Jamal Murray on the shelf.  The Nuggets will be paced up in New Orleans.  His price has crept up to $6500 on FanDuel, but DraftKings dropped him to $6800.  His recent game log doesn’t inspire a lot of confidence, but that’s due in part to his return from injury and this is a good spot against a battered Pelicans team on the 2nd night of a back-to-back.

I’m pretty sure there hasn’t been a day in this NBA season yet that Trae Young has been in my cash game player pool.  I considered him far too volatile for cash.  I should have taken a fresh look at him sooner.  There’s no question he will take double-digit shot attempts and play low-30s minutes.  What surprised me was the assists and rebounds he’s been collected leading to the type of high floor I look for on a daily basis.  His DraftKings salary got a significant bump, but paying $7400 tonight is still at least $1000 less than his season-high price tag.  He’s $7300 on FanDuel.

GPP Plays

It’s no secret that targeting bigs vs. Washington is a good strategy every night, but on larger slates there may be enough options at Center to keep ownership down.  If you think Jokic, Okafor, Towns, and even Horford or Dedmon will be the most popular targets, you might be able to see Myles Turner, $7300 on FanDuel and $6900 on DraftKings, differentiate your line in some tournaments.  He’s averaging over 50 fantasy points against the Wizards this season.  The loss of Oladipo should keep his usage rates high in a paced up matchup for Indiana.
