It’s a full schedule of 15 games on Wednesday, August 23rd. There will be a 2 game early slate as the A’s & Orioles square off along with the Brewers facing the Giants. The remaining 13 games make up the main slate with Kluber and Severino being the highlights from the starting pitchers.
Johnny G invites the MLB experts from Hammer DFS to take an early look at who they predict will go deep to help you fill out your rosters on DraftKings and FanDuel.
Up and down your squad, everyone needs home runs in their DFS lineups. Here are Johnny G’s Home Run predictions for 8/23/17:
Garret: In the month of August, Sean Manaea has given up 5 dongs in only 12 innings. Hitters are slugging.769 and batting .415 against him. Also, he’s giving up 41% Hard contact and 21.7% HR/FB. He gets the red-hot Orioles who love to hit lefties. I’m going with Manny Machado. He is hitting.341 for the month with 9 homers. He’s slugging .842 against lefties in the month of August.
Chris: His 12 game hitting streak ended last night, but Byron Buxton is in a good spot to start a new streak today. He’s faced James Shields 9 times and has collected 3 extra-base hits (a double and 2 dongs) and a walk. The guy was all but left for dead earlier this season, but has been working his way back to being a respectable pro ballplayer during the 2nd half. He’s a GPP-only play still; he strikes out entirely too much for cash games (and hits low in the order). The Twins will be a popular stack since Shields gets picked on often and for good reason, but Dozier, Kepler (if he’s back), Rosario, possibly Polanco will draw most of the ownership. You could get BB at low ownership in a great matchup.
