NBA DFS Fanduel Lineup Advice: Values 1/12/16

What’s up, guys! My name is Geoff Lambert and I run a fantasy blog called GoingFor2.com. I’d like to thank Johnny G for allowing me to do this guest post. I’m here to bring you my NBA DFS value plays for Fanduel for the Tuesday 1/12/16 slate of games. I’m going to go position by position and give you one or two guys I like. So let’s get started…

Point Guard

George Hill, Pacers $5,600

I don’t love the value at the point guard position, but if you’re looking to save some money at the point and spend elsewhere, then look no further than Hill. He plays a ton of minutes, which you always look for in a value play, and he has a great matchup with the Suns.

Marcus Smart, Celtics $4,800

A little cheaper, and lot more risky, we have Smart. The Celtics guard has a high floor due to his ability to do a little bit of everything to fill out the stat sheet, but has limited upside because he isn’t a high volume scorer. He has a good matchup with the Knicks tonight and he only needs about 25 fanduel points to reach value.

Shooting Guard

Lou Williams, Lakers $5,700

Lou Will may be the best value on tonight’s slate. He is a high volume scorer that’s on a tear right now. Playing on a Lakers team that will be playing from behind a lot, he has the green light to keep shooting, not to mention the great matchup he has with the defensively challenged Pelicans.

Tony Allen, Grizzlies $4,300

Allen has reclaimed his starting spot on the Grizzlies, and over the last two games has taken advantage of it scoring 30-plus fanduel points in both of those games. Tonight he takes on the Houston Rockets, a team that has struggled mightily on the defensive side of the ball this year despite having Dwight Howard in the middle. Look for another 30-plus performance again tonight.

Small Forward

Matt Barnes, Grizzlies $5,000

His first two games back from suspension left a lot to be desired, but over his last two games he has really started to fill out the box score having at least 12 points and 7 rebounds in both contests. I already mentioned that the Rockets are bad defensively so Barnes could be in for another good night.

Nikola Mirotic, Bulls $5,500

The move from power forward to small forward has helped Mirotic find his game again. After starting off the season hot out the gates, he had become fantasy irrelevant for a lot of games. Suddenly he is back on the map having had two 40-plus fantasy point efforts in his last five games while averaging over 30 minutes per over those five. It remains to be seen how much playing time he will lose now that Joakim Noah is back from injury, but with a great matchup with the Bucks, he is still worth his price tag.

Power Forward

Larry Nance Jr., Lakers $4,400

Power forward, like the point guard position, is another position where there is very little value. In fact, Lance Jr. is the only sub 6k guy I’d even risk rostering, and even that’s a huge risk. If it wasn’t for the match-up with a potential Anthony Davis-less Pelicans team, I don’t think he would have made this column.

Center

Ian Mahinmi, Pacers $5,200

He has three straight games with 25-plus fanduel points and a great matchup with the lowly Suns. What more do you want?

Hi, my name is Johnny Giovonni. I am in the financial services industry and own my own business on the side. I work too much and golf too little. That is why I helped create this site, so I could at least have the dream of golfing everyday. Also, I am a huge numbers person and have researched many advanced gaming theories and other nerd stuff like the Rule of 72 and Benford's Law. When I am not working I am either golfing, watching sports, or researching statistics for my weekly and daily fantasy picks. I am under full belief there is an enormous advantage to be had with information when picking your lineups every week. I hope to bring that knowledge to this website. I look forward to writing and responding to your comments. Check out some of our course reviews, fantasy sports picks and as always, provide any feedback!
