We do more than golf picks! Also a life long NASCAR fan and fantasy expert.
It is time for the 1st road race of the NASCAR season. After a one week break the Sprint Cup series takes its’ drivers to the road course at Sonoma for the Toyota Savemart 350.
After doing some research and mostly gut feelings, I came up with a decent mix of clear favorites and some long shots to win the NASCAR race this up coming week on the road track.
2015 Sonoma NASCAR Fantasy Picks
1. Carl Edwards – While Carl already has a victory this year and should be in the Chase, the defending champ is looking to put up another W. I expect a strong finish this week.
2. Jeff Gordon – Just look at Gordon’s history. No more reason needed. Also, he needs a win this year and should be very hungry and aggressive this week. He could get the pole as well.
3. Jamie McMurray – Not many people would guess it, but McMurray is 7th in the series in points this year. However, he is still looking for a victory to lock up his Chase chances.
4. Paul Menard – Menard is one of the steadiest drivers out there but just does not get to victory lane as much as he should. Maybe that all changes this week at Sonoma, where Menard is an excellent road racer.
5. Greg Biffle – What happened to him this year? A long shot dark horse of the week I actually like Biffle to start to turn it around. At 20th in the Sprint Cup series right now, Biffle needs a win or some top 3 finishes in a hurry.
Good luck.
