The PGA tour this week journeys over to China for the WGC HSBC Champions event. If you remember, Bubba Watson won in epic fashion last year and looks to defend his crown. Last week’s event had much drama, with Justin Thomas winning the event holding off Adam Scott.
Johnny G’s fantasy lineup last week should have won all 50/50 contests with a solid lineup. Now let us keep up the momentum this week at the HSBC Champions tournament.
As always, I will post my initial fantasy predictions and then update when the official DraftKings salaries come available.
ANOTHER WEDNESDAY START! So, be careful to get your lineups set in time for the early tee off this week.
1. Bubba Watson – Watson is the defending champ and his length is of great advantage on this course. Dustin Johnson won here two years ago and I also like him this week as well.
2. Ian Poulter – Another defending champion, who seems to always play well here is Poulter. While it was a pain for him to get into this event, he should have a strong showing and be priced in the middle of the pack as well.
3. Rickie Fowler- Looking to further prove he is one of the best in the world, winning a WGC event would be a great start to the wrap around season.
4. Martin Kaymer – While he has failed to return to the form that has led him to dominate in a few majors, Kaymer has a good track record here and should be able to be picked for a modest salary this week.
The goal in these limited field events is to get guys that can actually finish near the top. Long shots that cannot win do not do much good this week as these events typically do not have a cut.
11/5/15 WGC HSBC Champions DraftKings Lineup
Golfer | Salary | Comments - Stats | |
---|---|---|---|
1 | Thomas Aiken | 6600 | The sleeper of the bunch this week Aiken has showed good play from time to time and will be a low % play this week. |
2 | Hiroshi Iwata | 6700 | Iwata is 1/2 for cuts made, but had a good showing here in China before, making his 6700 price tag a good bargain. |
3 | Dustin Johnson | 10300 | Won a few years ago here, DJ will look to defend his crown, because he was not able to play last year. |
4 | Kevin Kisner | 7300 | Kisner has played ok, but is capable of much more. At 7300 he has a huge upside. |
5 | Ian Poulter | 8600 | Poulter plays great here. Just look at his record here. He will be low % owned, which makes him great if he plays well. |
6 | Bubba Watson | 10500 | The true defending champ from 2014, Bubba will be able to use his distance to be in contention again. |
