It’s a seven game NBA main slate on Tuesday, January 29th. Aside from the Hawks who are inactive tonight, this slate is full of our favorite teams to target against. We have teams that play at a high pace, teams that play bad defense, and teams that play bad defense at a high pace. This should be fun.
Let’s take an entirely too-early look at the building blocks for the January 29th main slate. More times than not, starting lineup announcements, breaking news, injuries, rest, etc. will affect the value of these plays and impact your roster construction. But, the sooner we can get a feel for the slate and the optimal build, the better.

Cash Plays
There are some intriguing decisions to be made with the high-priced studs tonight. As usual, I want to focus on finding lower priced value because we’re going to need it to fit the big pieces in our builds.
Julius Randle has been ruled out and since Capela went down, Houston is letting opposing bigs do whatever they want in the paint. Jahlil Okafor should be in line for significant playing time again. At $6100 on DraftKings coupled with the flexibility the Utility spot provides, he’s virtually locked in over there. FanDuel has him priced at $7200, so with only one Center position, he’s a consideration rather than a lock.
Shabazz Napier has been a solid producer since taking Dinwiddie’s minutes off the Brooklyn bench. He’s played 26 and 28 minutes over the last two games and has taken 29 field goal attempts over that span. His salary is right around the $5000 mark on both sites, so if his minutes remain secure and he continues to be better than a fantasy point per minute, he’s projected to get us 6x or so.
GPP Plays
I don’t love the minimum $500 price hike on both sites, but that reinforces the matchup: Guards vs. Cleveland continues to be a thing. Tomas Satoransky is worth a look. Like the Wizards in general, TSat (whatever, just go with it) has been playing some good ball recently. He’s had at least 8 assists in his last four games, playing no less than 36 minutes. Washington comes in as an 8 point road favorite, but with the Cavs getting Larry Nance back and fresh off actually winning a game, it’s not a giant stretch to hope this game remains close.
Look at all the lineups you will get, at a minimum, over the course of a month. One Cash and one GPP for each main slate. That translates to approximately:
- NBA – 120 lineups per month
- MLB – 120 lineups per month
- NHL – 120 lineups per month
- Golf – 16 lineups per month
- NFL – 16 lineups per month
- NASCAR – 8 lineups per month
- UFC – 2 per event
We also do some Showdown, Playoffs and small slate GPP lineups in addition. All of this for one low price! Contact us at HammerDFS@gmail.com or on Twitter @HammerDFS.
We run a private group that shares NBA lineup tips, as well as all of the other major DFS sports. Hammer DFS is a growing group of sports fans from across the country (from around the globe, technically) who enjoy playing daily fantasy sports, having some laughs, and winning cash while we’re at it.
As always, be sure to check for NBA fantasy updates and news before lock. This article is often written before the previous night’s games even finish, so a lot can, and will, change. Be diligent and follow-up accordingly.
