Johnny G’s MLB DraftKings & FanDuel Home Run Predictions 8-25-17

The weekend series are set to go starting Friday, August 25th with 15 games all starting at 7:05 pm ET or later.  Post-brawl, the Yankees go home to host the Mariners and the Tigers travel to the White Sox.  deGrom gets a road start against a likely Harper-less Nats squad.  Teheran, who is terrible at home, faces the Rockies, who are terrible on the road against righties.  Should be interesting.  Greinke gets a home start against the Giants.

Johnny G invites the MLB experts from Hammer DFS to take an early look at who they predict will go deep to help you fill out your rosters on DraftKings and FanDuel.

Up and down your squad, everyone needs home runs in their DFS lineups.  From your high-priced stars hitting value with one swing to your low-owned, minimum-priced punt helping you take down a big dollar contest, we all dig the long ball.  The experts will be digging through the match-ups and stats to find players in good spots and sharing them with you.

Here are Johnny G’s Home Run predictions for 8/25/17:

Alex: Verlander has been good as of late with a 0.56 ERA and only 3 hits allowed over 16 IP at home.  Luckily for us, he’s away where the numbers are more in our favor.  4.85 ERA, 47% hard hit and 51.5% fly ball and 5 HRs ( 4 of which came against RHB) over 13 IP.  Jose Abreu is 12-33 with 4 HRs vs Verlander in his career.  Despite the White Sox’s struggles at the plate, Abreu is hitting .308 in August with 6 HRs.

Chris: If you followed the advice of start Julio Teheran on the road and stack against him at home every time, you would be doing very well this season.  At the new SunTrust Field, Julio is 1-9 with a 6.98 ERA, 1.61 WHIP and 15 HRs allowed in 13 starts.  Needless to say, he is not taking to his new park very well.  Today he gets the Rockies.  The right field bleachers at the new stadium are a magnet for flyballs.  I’m taking Joe Dirt‘s brother, Charlie Blackmon, today.  The knock on the Rockies is they can’t hit on the road, and that’s pretty much accurate.  Chuck Nazty has some extreme splits.  In his defense, it’s tough to keep pace with a .392 home BA.  But don’t sleep on him away from Coors this year.  He’s hitting a respectable .287 on the road, 21 points higher than his career road avg.  He’s 5 for 20 with a dong vs. Julio in a southpaw-friendly, Teheran-unfriendly ballpark.
