September is here. Upton & Phillips are headed to the Angels. Verlander waived his no-trade clause to go to the Astros. Then he didn’t. Then, I guess, he did. It’s time to buckle down for the home stretch. The Tribe & Tigers will play 2 giving us 16 games on the day.
Johnny G invites the MLB experts from Hammer DFS to take an early look at who they predict will go deep to help you fill out your rosters on DraftKings and FanDuel.
Up and down your squad, everyone needs home runs in their DFS lineups. From your high-priced stars hitting value with one swing to your low-owned, minimum-priced punt helping you take down a big dollar contest, we all dig the long ball. The experts will be digging through the match-ups and stats to find players in good spots and sharing them with you.
If you need more than a four-bagger to get your bankroll growing, Hammer DFS has a full-service chat to get you back on track. Check out a sample of what their members pulled in recently:
Here are Johnny G’s Home Run predictions for 9/1/17:
Alex: It’s John Lackey day! Yes, once upon a time Lackey was a feared pitcher, but those days are long gone and now we have a shell of what he used to be. In August, Lackey has a 2.6 HR/FB,.415 wOBA, 42% fly ball and a 32% hard hit against LHH. Today, he gets to face a lineup with a couple of lefties that have good to decent BvP against him. One that sticks out to me is Freddie Freeman, who has a .253 ISO, .442 wOBA and 4HRs in august vs RHP.
Chris: Nick Pivetta is prone to the long ball. On the season, he owns a 1.94 HR/9 rate and has given up 2 or more dongs in 6 of his last 14 starts. Give me a bit more credit if you’re thinking I’m going to recommend Stanton. He doesn’t need recommended with what he’s doing since the Break. Play him any night and it’s a good play. Today I’m taking Christian Yelich, who has been running fairly hot lately. He collected 2 more hits last night making it a 6 game hit streak. He has double-digit DraftKings points in 7 of his last 11 games. He’s also 2 for 4 vs. Pivetta with both hits leaving the yard.
