There are 16 games scheduled for Tuesday, August 22 with the Marlins and Phillies scheduled to play a doubleheader. Lucas Giolito is scheduled to make his season debut for the White Sox. Homer Bailey starts for Cincy, which should push Cubs’ ownership sky-high. Chris Archer gets a home start against the Blue Jays and he is always highly owned due to his strikeout rate.
Johnny G invites the MLB experts from Hammer DFS to take an early look at who they predict will go deep to help you fill out your rosters on DraftKings and FanDuel.
Up and down your squad, everyone needs home runs in their DFS lineups. From your high-priced stars hitting value with one swing to your low-owned, minimum-priced punt helping you take down a big dollar contest, we all dig the long ball. The experts will be digging through the match-ups and stats to find players in good spots and sharing them with you.
If you need more than a four-bagger to get your bankroll growing, Hammer DFS has a full-service chat to get you back on track. Check out a sample of what their members pulled in recently:
Here are Johnny G’s Home Run predictions for 8/22/17:
Garret: Anthony Rizzo has an 18.5% HR/FB ratio and today he gets Homer Bailey at Great American Ballpark. John Lackey vs. Homer Bailey should be another fun game to watch, just like it was last week when they squared off. If Rizz goes deep he probably won’t be the only one! You can always count on Joey Votto, who in my opinion should be the front-runner for NL MVP.
Chris: If you’re into BvP, you have 2 must starts today. The first is Tommy Joseph. TJ is a perfect 5 for 5 against Urena with 2 HRs. Too small of a sample for your BvP pleasure? Then you’re starting Kendrys Morales. Morales is hitting .571 against Archer in 29 plate appearances. He’s 16 for 28 with 6 doubles, 3 HRs, and only 4 Ks.
Need a little more than solid BvP stats? I’m officially taking Jay Bruce today against Doug Fister. He’s 2 for 7 lifetime vs. Fister with only one strikeout in 9 PAs. But the real reason he’s my pick today is due to the tear he’s been on since joining the Tribe. He has an 11 game hit streak going, with 5 doubles and 3 HRs. His flyball and hard contact rates are both 40%. He had a tough matchup for his home debut last night facing the lefty E-Rod, but I expect him to win over the home crowd with a big game today.
