Happy 4th of July, everyone! The 15 games on the schedule are spread throughout the day, starting at 11:05 am EST when the Mets take on the Nats and ending with Kershaw facing the D-Backs at 9:10 pm. In addition to Kersh, the pitching highlights include Kluber hosting the Padres, Peacock heads to Atlanta, and we have Archer vs. Lester in Wrigley. The Gas Can watch includes Matt Cain visiting the Tigers, Ubaldo pitching in Miller Park, and the Cincinnati Reds thought it was a good idea to let Homer Bailey keep his rotation spot in Coors Field.

Here are Johnny G’s Home Run predictions for 7/4/17:
Garret: Over the last 30 days, Steve Pearce is batting .417. Yeah, he’s only had 37 plate appearances, but he has 14 hits and 2 dongs. Tomorrow he gets CC Sabathia, who he has hit fairly well in his career; going 7 for 24 with two homers. Steve Pearce will have a BIG DAY if CC comes back a little rusty.
Chris: Lucas Duda is on a bit of a heater lately. He’s crushing the ball over his last 9 starts, averaging a batted ball distance of 265 feet, exit velocity of 97 mph, flyball rate of 54%, and a hard contact rate of 50%. All of those numbers are well above his yearlong averages. He has a very good history against Joe Ross also, going 4 for 6 with 2 dongs, a double, and 2 walks. Duda should put up some good points today.
If you’re looking for a prediction on the later slate, take a look at what Elvis Andrus has done against David Price. 14 for 29 in 38 PAs (.483) with 7 walks and 7 stolen bases. He obviously sees the ball well out of Price’s hand. He’s also smoking hot at the moment, going for double-digit FanDuel points in 9 of his last 12 games.
