Week 4 of the NFL season gives us a chance for things to go back to normal after a bizarre Week 3. Defenses don’t win tournaments for you often, but they are crucial to keep pace with the money line in DFS contests.
Johnny G invites the NFL experts from Hammer DFS to share some of their research and insights to help you build your rosters and cross the money line in your DFS contests.

The shake up with the new Offensive Coordinator must have given the defense a boost last week too as the Cincinnati Bengals sacked Aaron Rodgers 6 times. This week they’re a road favorite in Cleveland in a game with a low total (Over/Under of 40). Sure, DeShone Kizer may have been the QB of DraftKings’ perfect lineup last week, but he is turning the ball over at a large clip. Just his last 2 games, he has 7 turnovers (6 INTs and a fumble). Divisional games make game scripts unpredictable sometimes, but the Cincy D should make enough plays to hit value this week.
All aboard the Jacoby Brissett train! …No? Me neither. The Seattle Seahawks and the 12th Man should easily hit value this week with the Colts coming to town. They did a whole lotta nothing in Tennessee, but it’s night and day when they’re at home vs. away. Their first 2 games they collected 6 sacks, 2 INTs, and a fumble. They’ve been stronger against the pass as they rank 8th in the league in yards allowed. Look for them to keep the offense going, grab an early lead, and provide opportunities for fantasy points against Brissett.

Who has given up the fewest passing yards in the league currently? The Jacksonville Jaguars have only allowed 443 yards in 3 games. They have given up some yards to the ground game, but they sit 3rd in the league in total yards allowed. They have 13 sacks, 4 INTs, 4 fumble recoveries, and a TD through 3 games. The only game they haven’t exceeded projections was Week 2 against the Titans. They’re taking care of business against the bad teams and they get another one this Sunday facing the Jets.
What do I like the most about the Philadelphia Eagles defense this week? Philip Rivers! He leads the universe in interceptions over the last few seasons. A couple of things stand out besides the picks; one is the work the Eagles have done against tight ends so far. They’re only averaging 8.1 FanDuel points to the TE position. It’s no secret that Rivers loves him some tight end (wait, what?). The other is the fact that the Chargers don’t have a home field advantage. It’s a new stadium in a new city and the city happens to be LA. The Eagles have 8 sacks, 3 INTs, and 3 fumble recoveries. If they get pressure on Rivers, they’ll add to their turnover totals.
Good luck in your NFL DFS contests this week!
