Another great tournament as the Valspar, with Haas just losing out to a charging Schwartzel. He did win the Masters a few years back so people forget how good he really can be. Note a T5 for CH3 and a few hundred thousand more to add to his total. Never really contended except for early, but makes a steady check once again.
The 2016 Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill is back again. With tons of hype, even without Tiger playing, the current state of golf is looking as bright as ever. There are many of the top 30 golfers in the field this week and Scott is going for another victory as he hopes to keep him momentum into Augusta National. Also, Matt Every (2x defending champ) is back again. Not sure why he loves this course so much, but he does earn a chunk of his prize money here over the past few years. At -19 under last year there were plenty of birdies to be made around Arnie’s course.
I like Henrik Stenson this week as a good value, solid winner without paying the premium for guys like Scott and Day. The extra amount will let you balance out your fantasy golf lineup better this week at Bay Hill. Kevin Na is a 2nd or 3rd pick that can hold good value as well, especially when he is on one of his hot streaks. *(Update from JG) Kevin Na has withdrawn this week for undisclosed reasons.
2016 PGA Arnold Palmer DraftKings Lineup
Golfer | Salary | Comments - Stats | |
---|---|---|---|
1 | Henrik Stenson | 11100 | Stenson has never missed the cut here (7/7). 2nd last year, 5th in 2014, 8th in 2013. The only thing left is to win it this year. He's a bad putter, but he always has been. Tee-to-Green Stenson is aces (9th overall). |
2 | Justin Rose | 10500 | Take away his missed cut at Farmers (where he shot even par 71-73) and he hasn't finished worse than 17th this season. Long off the tee and 19th in GIR. Considering all four par 3's are over 200 yards, Rose is 42nd in Par 3 Scoring and 21st from 200+ yards in. |
3 | Paul Casey | 8700 | Casey sets up well at Bay Hill. Good distance off the tee and 10th in GIR. 6th overall in GIR from 200+ yards. He's putting well too, 26th SG: Putting. |
4 | Ian Poulter | 7100 | Sure Poults has missed 2 cuts in 5 events, but Pebble Beach was a mess and he's missed the Phoenix cut and played well here before. In fact, since 2011, he's finished 21st or better every year (21st, 20th, 21st, 3rd, 12th). |
5 | Hudson Swafford | 6300 | Swafford averages 307 yards off the tee which will help on the par 5's. He ranks 4th overall on Tour on Approaches from 200+ yards. Factor in his rank of 30th in SG: Putting and he's a solid punt. |
6 | Jim Herman | 6100 | No love for the Herminator as he's still only $6100. 8 of 12 cuts made, 15th in Driving Accuracy, 34th in GIR, and 15th from 200+ yards. Sure he can't putt, but the price is right. |
