Johnny G’s DraftKings PGA 2016 Honda Classic Fantasy Golf Lineup

After a solid Northern Trust Open, what can the 2016 Honda Classic provide to top that?

Well, the Bear Trap is one of the hardest set of holes in the game and with Nicklaus around it provides a unique dynamic to the tournament. And as an added bonus, the field is strong. Should be an exciting week.

Less than 2 months to The Masters and the story lines are already picking up steam.  While I personally do not have an early prediction on who will win yet, I check The Sports Geek frequently for quality information. If you are looking for good information at a sports betting site, check it out!

The Honda Classic has turned into a very tough course of late with mid single digits under par capable of winning, depending on the weather. Even Florida in March can have some cool and windy weather that can cause havoc on the golf course.

Obviously McIlroy and Fowler will be the two big guns this week, but there are quite a few top 25 players in the field. The event is not just for the big names though, as some of the biggest surprise winners have won this event of late.

I also like Paul Casey this week. Toward the end of last year he stepped his game up big time. Zach Johnson is another top tier guy that could be in the hunt Sunday.

For the bargain players, like at Russell Knox, who has a couple top 5 finishes here in the last few years. Could be a good value play. Also, Poulter played well here last year, until his collapse at the end. John Senden can also use his crisp iron striking to excel if the wind picks up over 15 – 20 mph.

More updates to come and when the official DraftKings golf contest opens we will get an official lineup posted for you guys. Thanks!

 GolferSalaryComments - Stats
1Kevin Kisner99007 events - 4 top 10's this season. 2nd in Scoring Average. 2nd in Total Driving. 2nd in Birdie Average. 4th in Ball Striking. This guy is at the top of almost every category, including the key stats for this tourney AND he's under $10k in salary!
2Russell Knox9700He's hitting 77.5% of GIR (which is #1 on Tour). That's an important stat this week with a par 70 and wind. Knox is also 5th in Scrambling if he does miss a green. 11th in Par 4 scoring. Finishing 3rd last year and 2nd in 2014 makes me warm & fuzzy too.
3Paul Casey9500A small sampling this season so far, but Casey is ranked 13th in Par 4 scoring, 2nd in Ball Striking, and 5th in GIR. He also has good course history here including 3rd last year, 12th in 2014, and 4th in 2010.
4Jamie Donaldson7200Making the cut last week eased any worries about him hacking off part of his hand with that chainsaw. This is more than a "pick Europeans in windy conditions" play, Jamie has made the cut three consecutive years here with a 6th place finish last year.
5Brian Harman6900Harman has made his last five cuts and three of his last four here, including 11th last year and 12th in 2012.
6John Senden6100Forgetting recent form (yes, I know it's been a month since he broke 70), if I told you for $6100 you could pencil in a made cut and a finish somewhere between 25th and 45th because that's apparently what this guy always does, would you take it? I am.
