Johnny G’s 2015 DraftKings Barclays Fantasy Golf Picks

Last week’s recap: Davis Love III still has it folks!  The 51-year old O.G. of the 300 yard drive is back in the winner’s circle. Well done DL III.

Well, a nice long summer as led us to the 1st of 4 FedEx Cup playoff events and this week we are at The Barclays.  Tiger made a valiant effort to get here, but just fell short.  Nonetheless, it should be a very exciting end to the 2015 PGA Tour season.

Wait no more, here are The Barclays DraftKings Fantasy Golf Picks:

1st Tier Picks

Jordan Spieth – $12,600 – Nothing like picking the #1 guy in the world right?  Well, I know his DK salary will be high, but at worst he has to be around a top 10. At least that is my thought.  If you can find some good low value picks this week then let him fly.

Jason Day – $11,500 -Will he have a major letdown?  I do not know, but he is a streaky player so I expect him to play very well again.

2nd Tier Picks

Hunter Mahan -$6,700 –  He won here last year, but really has not been having a great year at all.  The course does not know that though, and most tour pros play rather well in the same tournaments year in and year out. Just ask Mr. Woods how he likes Bay Hill, Torrey Pines, and Firestone.

Bill Haas – $8,000 – Steady Bill.  Another top 10 and the guy is rarely on TV.  Just keeps cashing 500k checks.  Keep living the dream.  I wonder if his family places wagers when they play together?  Please Tweet @3jackalmanac if you know the answer.

Paul Casey – $8,700 –  Much like Haas, he is very steady and posted a top 5 last week.  So he is the obvious choice, but I have found that Casey does not get much love in these fantasy leagues.

3rd Tier Picks

Scott Brown – $6,500 – Yes, I knew about him before his hole in one on Sunday.  But many people did not, so I expect his value to start climbing. If he is priced low enough, take him this week. He has solid iron play and is rather good off the tee as well.  Watch out for him next season too…

Long Shot for DraftKings Lineups

Morgan Hoffman – $6,400 –  He could be more of a third tier pick, but I like Morgan this week. Why?  I watched him over the last month or so and he just seems to be finding a grove. Either way, if the price is right I will snag him up for my golf squad this week.

Good luck in your golf leagues this week!
