Graeme McDowell Wins OHL Classic at Mayakoba In Playoff.

McDowell defeated Russell Knox and Jason Bohn on the first playoff hole.  He teed off with a 3 wood leaving him 205 yards in.  Wanting to lean on a 6 iron, Graeme took his caddie’s advice instead and hit a smooth 5 iron to two and a half feet.

G-Mac hadn’t had a top 10 finish since January.  His last win was two seasons ago at the 2013 Heritage.

“It’s been a rough year for all the right reasons.  I’ve been enjoying life off the golf course with my beautiful family. Golf hasn’t been the priority it should be. But the last three or four months I got back to where I want to be.”

Inbee Park Wins Lorena Ochoa Invitational.

A final round 64 gave Park a three-stroke victory and her fifth win of the season.  She matches Lydia Ko’s victory total for the season and has moved to within three points of Ko in the Player of the Year award.

This sets up a final showdown next week at the CME Group Tour Championship, which is the final event in the LPGA’s season-long Race to the CME Globe and a $1 million bonus.  Park, Ko, and 3rd place Stacy Lewis can lock down the cash with a win this weekend.

No Fine For Peterson.

A couple of weeks ago we showed you John Peterson awesomely step up to the first tee and Happy Gilmore his tee shot as he sat in last place of the CIMB Classic.  Most of us laughed.  Some of the traditionalists had a problem with it.

After the fact, the question became whether the PGA Tour would fine Peterson since a sense of humor is something the Tour rarely has.  Peterson has confirmed there was no fine.  The tee ball finding the water hazard was penalty enough apparently.
