It is time for Johnny G’s 2015 NFL fantasy football picks! This season starts next weekend so let us not waste any time getting to the DraftKings fantasy football plays of the week. Each week I will submit a full lineup, feel free to tweak it as you see fit, and I will also provide updates as needed as games get closer.
DraftKings NFL Lineup Week 1 2015
Position | Name | Team | Salary | Projections |
---|---|---|---|---|
QB | Eli Manning | NYG | 7400 | Eli tends to put up some good numbers against Dallas. Granted, some are in garbage time but who cares. 330 yds 2 TD's. |
RB | DeMarco Murray | Cowboys | 6700 | People are nervous since it is his first game in Philly. Don't be. 96 yds rushing 45 receiving. 1 TD. |
RB | Latavius Murray | Raiders | 5700 | This young star -to- be in Oakland will surprise you. 105 yards rushing. |
WR | O. Beckham Jr. | NYG | 9200 | A steep price at WR, but he is worth it. 120 yds 1 TD. |
WR | Kendall Wright | Titans | 5100 | A good value play. Could sneak into the end zone. 79 yds. |
WR | Davante Adams | Packers | 4400 | With Nelson out, Adams will see a ton of action and therefore a ton of catches from Mr. AR. 88 yards and 1 TD. |
Flex | John Brown WR | Cardinals | 4500 | Very talented WR that will get better as the year goes on. And he plays better at home. 80 yds. |
TE | A. Seferian-Jenkins | Tampa Bay | 3400 | Two things. 1. Rookie QB's love TE's. 2. They are playing at home with much hype and you could see a huge first game out Winston. Much like Cam Newton. Remember that? |
Defense | Seattle | Seahawks | 3400 | The best D in the game. And they are playing the Rams. Only thing better would be if it were in the great Northwest. 13 fantasy points. |
Total | 49800 | |||
A few key things to point out for week 1 of the NFL season. First, we know little about traded players, rookies, and teams with coaching changes. So it can be wise to stick to the players you know are quality performers week in and week out. However, those players will have higher salaries since everyone will be adding them to their lineups.
So, I like to take what I call a value play on guys like Adams from GB. He will get extra touches because of injury and his value is still low. That way I can spend more of the salary cap on guys like Odell Beckham Jr. However, there is no sure thing in fantasy football, we can just make the best decisions today based on the knowledge we have at this point in time.
