My Equipment

One of the first questions that always pops into my head when I hear someone is a golfer: what kind of equipment do you play?  This question arises as I am trying to assess the skill level of who I’m talking to.  It’s not a competitive streak.  I’m looking for an edge.  If you hit your driver 15 yards further than I hit mine, I need to know what you’re swinging.  Also, you need to let me hit it.

In the spirit of transparency, the 3 Jack Almanac will keep you updated on what’s in our bags.  We’ll keep you updated on how we hit our clubs so you are armed with information from average golfers.  Only 20% of casual golfers break 100 so let’s face it, we need to know what the ball will do when you hit it on the toe.

Here’s my current bag:

  • TaylorMade SLDR, 10.5 degrees, regular flex
  • TaylorMade Rocketballz 5 Wood, 19 degrees
  • Callaway Razr X 3 Hybrid, 21 degrees
  • Callaway Razr X Irons, 4-P
  • Titleist Vokey SM5 Gap Wedge, 52 degrees
  • Titleist Vokey Sand Wedge, 56 degrees
  • Cleveland Smart Square, Super Stroke Slim 3.0 grip

Primarily I play Callaway HX Diablo or Titleist NXT Tour golf balls.

Chris Racic

Chris Racic lives and plays in NE Ohio. He works full time in the Financial Services industry and owns an absolutely horrendous short game. Chris chipped in for an eagle at Seven Hills Country Club in Hartville the day before his oldest daughter was born and is positive it’s some sort of sign.
