According to Hunter Mahan, Jordan Spieth laughs a little too hard at his own jokes.
The United Kingdom’s National Club Golfer interviewed Mahan as part of its Best & Worst Q&A. Part of the interview asks who is the most funny player on Tour and follows up with the least funny player on Tour.
Mahan said Matt Kuchar is the funniest on Tour. This is believable based on stories and interviews from the Tour including Kuch’s appearance on Feherty. His sense of humor is well documented.
When the question flipped, Mahan throws the new World’s #1 under the bus:
“There’s quite a few guys – Jordan Spieth thinks he’s hilarious but he’s an idiot.”
Is it just me or does anyone else find this completely believable also? A supply of bad jokes and lame puns that he laughs at louder than anyone else? I think it fits in with his self-effacing persona we have seen during his rise to the top of the professional ranks.
Other highlights from the Q&A include a vote for Ian Poulter having the best hair on Tour. “I appreciate the fact that Poulter takes so much time in getting it ready,” answered Mahan. A back-handed compliment maybe? Check out the video in the link and let us know what you think.
Who has the worst hair on Tour? Hunter passes on the opportunity to vote for himself a few years ago and instead gives the nod to the Most Interesting Man in Golf.
“Probably Miguel [Angel Jimenez]. He can make it work, but it’s not great.”
Mahan was straightforward about his least favorite playing partner when he admitted Graeme McDowell has kicked his butt the last few times they have played together.
