Johnny G’s 2015 Week 1 NFL DraftKings QB Lineup Picks

If you are looking for DraftKings NFL fantasy football picks, you came to the right place!  This post will cover QB picks only, so check out my other post for the full DraftKings NFL lineup.

NFL week 1 QB Picks and Sleepers

I am not going to pick Rodgers, Luck, Manning in posts like these. This post is to attempt to find great values, sleeper picks, and long shots that could score big for the week.  The key early in the season is to play the match-ups (obviously).  But that can be harder than what you think since many things change during the first few weeks of the season.

For week 1 I see quite a few good value plays.

PositionNameTeamSalaryProjections
QBMatthew StaffordDetroit7000Sure, he was a bit down last year, but him and Megatron will not take another year like last. At 7000, he is a good pick against the chargers. 280 yds and 2 TD.
QBKirk CousinsWashington5000A QB for 5000? Amazing and he is starting. If he could just put a decent game together the extra value will allow you to load up on running backs. 240 yds & 1TD.
QBCarson PalmerArizona6500Arizona should (better) score more points than last year. What better way than to start at home against the Saints. 300 yds 2 TD.
QBRyan TannehillMiami7400Not a great bargain, but the Redskins have a terrible defense. I doubt they improved from last place overnight.
QBJay CutlerBears6800Will he finally prove everyone wrong? Sure he has some good games, but always disappoints. At home against GB he should at least put up some stats for us.

The first week is a good learning experience. Be sure to use it, but do not value fluke games by average football players.

Stay tuned.

Johnny Giovonni

Hi, my name is Johnny Giovonni. I am in the financial services industry and own my own business on the side. I work too much and golf too little. That is why I helped create this site, so I could at least have the dream of golfing everyday. Also, I am a huge numbers person and have researched many advanced gaming theories and other nerd stuff like the Rule of 72 and Benford's Law. When I am not working I am either golfing, watching sports, or researching statistics for my weekly and daily fantasy picks. I am under full belief there is an enormous advantage to be had with information when picking your lineups every week. I hope to bring that knowledge to this website. I look forward to writing and responding to your comments. Check out some of our course reviews, fantasy sports picks and as always, provide any feedback!
