Johnny G’s 2015/2016 DraftKings NBA Fantasy Preview

Hard to believe that another NBA season is upon us.  For me it seems like Jordan just hit “The Shot” against Ehlo.  Anyway, with DraftKings NBA there are some basic things about strategy that we should go over before the season kicks off.  Normally, I shoot to play the 50/50 contests.

Two reasons:  1. My bankroll can last much longer & 2. You will have a few competitors that start guys that are either hurt, injured, or they do not have a good value.  So out of 100 competitors, you are down to maybe 90 or so ones that actually are good.   Maybe less.  A while back in a DraftKings CFB contest I was in a 50/50 contest and 4 guys started Gunner Kiel from Cincinnati.  HE WAS OUT!

So my lineups tend to error on the conservative side, but if you want to win the big tournaments you will have to take some chances on your cheap players having huge nights.   But that does not mean a good 50/50 lineup cannot win a tournament, it just means if a guy that is averaging a steady 14 points and 7 boards probably is not going to score 45 points.   Some streak shooters can sometimes score 7 points or 27 points. Those cheap values could be great in a tournament.

As you can see, there is quite a bit of flexibility of your lineup as opposed to the FanDuel NBA lineup.
The two are so different it is hard to really say that a player is good for both. Analysis needs to be done for both contests in order to put the best daily fantasy basketball lineup on the table.

So check back in a few weeks for our hopefully daily pick advice on choosing your best DraftKings NBA lineup of the day. Tuesday October 27th is opening night and it will be an exiting one featuring the Cavs vs Bulls to start the season off right.

Hi, my name is Johnny Giovonni. I am in the financial services industry and own my own business on the side. I work too much and golf too little. That is why I helped create this site, so I could at least have the dream of golfing everyday. Also, I am a huge numbers person and have researched many advanced gaming theories and other nerd stuff like the Rule of 72 and Benford's Law. When I am not working I am either golfing, watching sports, or researching statistics for my weekly and daily fantasy picks. I am under full belief there is an enormous advantage to be had with information when picking your lineups every week. I hope to bring that knowledge to this website. I look forward to writing and responding to your comments. Check out some of our course reviews, fantasy sports picks and as always, provide any feedback!
