Johnny G’s 2016 PGA Valspar Championship DraftKings Lineup

What a leaderboard last week at Doral! Will Adam Scott finally keep this momentum up to becoming a multiple Major winner like he could be? Hard to say, but what we know for sure is the anchored stroke ban is not hurting him at all. Not sure who has a better looking swing, Adam Scott or Justin Rose? Either way, with the talent in the game now golf is in a great place. Not nearly as many Tiger mentions as the weeks go by.

Jordan Spieth defends this week at the Valspar Championship, which is one of the tougher courses on tour. The field is not as strong as some other early season contests, but there are some strong golfers in the field. Some foreign players are starting to make their way over in preparation of The Masters next month.

This week I like Henrik Stenson to play well. He could be slightly undervalued too. In the same boat, I think Louis Oosthuizen will be a solid DFS play this week at the Valspar.

Danny Willett did not disappoint me this week and I look for another strong finish from him. Another Danny, Lee this time, should also prove to be a good 50/50 type play. Very consistent golfer. Once the values come out we will also try to find a sleeper or two that will perform better than expected.

***Update from Johnny G 3/9/16: An earlier version listed Jim Herman in the roster.  That has been changed to Colt Knost.

 GolferSalaryComments - Stats
1Henrik Stenson11500His recent good form has eased any worries over his recovery from surgery. He's expensive, but as solid as it comes in 'made cuts' and has a good chance to win here.
2Harris English9600Harris is quietly playing very well right now. He hasn't missed a cut since Mayakoba and has three top 10's in his last six events. He's ranked 47th in Scrambling and his Strokes Gained stats are impressive.
3Kevin Streelman8200Streels plays the Copperhead course well. He's made his last 4 cuts here and won in 2013. Currently ranked 14th in Proximity.
4Danny Lee8000His only missed cut at Northern Trust was a near-miss (+1). Lee is ranked 21st in Driving Accuracy, 41st Strokes Gained: Tee-to-Green, and #17 in Sand Saves.
5Colt Knost6700Knost is 10 for 10 in making cuts this year. Ranks #2 in Driving Accuracy, #68 in Proximity, and #34 in Scrambling. So, he'll be in the fairway (important here!), get his 2nd relatively close, but will get up & down 64% of the time if he misses the green. Did I mention 10 straight cuts made?
6Mark Hubbard5700Would you take a player that made 91% of his cuts? Most likely. What if he was a punt at $5700? I almost pulled a muscle, that's how fast I hit the Mark Hubbard button. He's accurate off the tee (22nd) and has a bunch of key stats in the 'not terrible' range.

Johnny Giovonni

Hi, my name is Johnny Giovonni. I am in the financial services industry and own my own business on the side. I work too much and golf too little. That is why I helped create this site, so I could at least have the dream of golfing everyday. Also, I am a huge numbers person and have researched many advanced gaming theories and other nerd stuff like the Rule of 72 and Benford's Law. When I am not working I am either golfing, watching sports, or researching statistics for my weekly and daily fantasy picks. I am under full belief there is an enormous advantage to be had with information when picking your lineups every week. I hope to bring that knowledge to this website. I look forward to writing and responding to your comments. Check out some of our course reviews, fantasy sports picks and as always, provide any feedback!
