Johnny G’s 2016 WGC Bridgestone Invitational Fantasy Golf Picks

What a week! Billy Hurley III takes home his first victory. While most were surprised, he previous best finish did come here.

Before we get to this week’s event, be sure to check out http://dfsweatherreport.com for your live MLB and for that matter, any need.

This week the PGA Tour heads to Akron OH at Firestone as the Bridgestone Invitational is moved up this year due to the Olympics. Tiger used to be the go-to pick here, but those days are long gone, and he will not even be able to tee it up this week. There are some other horses for courses out there that could be steady plays this week. And remember, there is no cut!

Justin Rose, Jim Furyk, Bubba Watson and Rory McIlroy all have had some past success here. And last year’s winner Shane Lowry, was in the final group in the US Open a few weeks ago. This course will allow some people to go under par, but there will be some high scores too, so the flier might end up finishing +14, so be careful going with a long-shot.

 DraftKings PGA Recommendations

With no cut this week, there is a cluster of salaries in the 6500 – 8500 range. I would not try a long shot this week, as Firestone can be punishing.

1st Tier

Justin Rose –  5 top 5 finishes here. Book him. May not win, but very low risk.

2nd Tier

Jim Furyk – Guy just books top 10 finishes here.  He has TEN of them!

3rd Tier

Danny Lee – A solid finish last year and his continued success makes me think he could win here.

B. Hun-an – Good value for a guy ranked in the top 30 in the world.

Johnny Giovonni

Hi, my name is Johnny Giovonni. I am in the financial services industry and own my own business on the side. I work too much and golf too little. That is why I helped create this site, so I could at least have the dream of golfing everyday. Also, I am a huge numbers person and have researched many advanced gaming theories and other nerd stuff like the Rule of 72 and Benford's Law. When I am not working I am either golfing, watching sports, or researching statistics for my weekly and daily fantasy picks. I am under full belief there is an enormous advantage to be had with information when picking your lineups every week. I hope to bring that knowledge to this website. I look forward to writing and responding to your comments. Check out some of our course reviews, fantasy sports picks and as always, provide any feedback!
