Here are Johnny G’s Home Run predictions for 9/14/17:
Chris: Jose Abreu crushes lefties to the tune of a .475 wOBA. He has hits in 6 of his last 7 games, going 13 for 30 (.433) with 2 doubles, 2 triples, and 4 home runs during that span. Jose gets lefty Chad Bell today. Bell has yet to go 5 innings this season. He’s has 51.1 IP this year giving up 34 runs, 62 hits, and 25 walks. There will be plenty of base runners and the White Sox should score some runs. Look for Abreu to get his.
Trea Turner will fill up a box score real quick. Don’t sleep on his power. Over the last 2 weeks, his flyball rate is up 11% to 43%. That, and his recent exit velocity of 92 mph has increased his average batted ball distance to 225 feet. 3 hits last night gives him multi-hit games in 4 of his last 7. Over the course of those 7 games, he 5 XBHs (2 doubles, triple, 2 dongs) and 2 steals. He’s also a big-time reverse splits guy. His wOBA vs. righties is .374 compared to .238 against lefties. His .524 slugging pct is 242 points higher than when he faces a southpaw. He gets the righty Mike Foltynewicz today.
