Johnny G Fantasy DFS Advice

Johnny G’s NFL DFS Week 17 DraftKings Lineup Advice

Happy New Year 3 Jack readers!  Do you have some season-long fantasy football league prize money that you’re looking to parlay in a DraftKings contest?  Or do you have some angry dollars burning a hole in your pocket after watching the playoffs from the sidelines because you drafted Jordy Nelson, LeVeon Bell, or Jamaal Charles?  Well, Johnny G is here to help you with your DFS picks.

Week 17 always has a personality of its own year in year out.  Some teams are resting starters (Redskins?) skewing team ranks.  A handful of teams are fighting for a playoff berth boosting stats over season-long averages.  Other teams have nothing left to lose making consistent fades put up random 5x value stat lines (looking at you Matty Ice).

It’s a tricky week but there are plenty of tantalizing stacks to close the regular season.  We are going value on the RBs and focusing salary in the WR category.

I can’t spend my hard-earned money on Matt Ryan, but the Ryan/Jones stack will be popular.  On the other sideline, Brees has a good matchup and will have multiple stacks with Sneed a cheap option, Cooks playing well of late and Hightower sure to have high ownership again this week.

Eli/ODB should be huge this week.  ODB is coming off the suspension against a mess of a Philly team with no coach.

Note: if word comes in that Forte will have a lighter workload, I’m plugging in Jeremy Langford with no hesitation over Run DMC.  He’s $1000 cheaper and a stud when he gets touches.  Then we can take the extra money ($1000 + $400 left) and upgrade our D.  There’s plenty of salary left to upgrade the defense AND get the Eli/ODB stack in the lineup.  Decker is solid by himself, so the only decision is who to swap out for Beckham.

DraftKings 1/1/16 NFL Week 17 Lineup – Main Event

PositionNameTeamSalaryProjections
QBRyan FitzpatrickNYJ @ Buf5400Yes, playing at Rex's house scares me a little, but I like the 'win & in' scenario better with the confidence of beating the Pats last week. Averaging 300+ and 2 TDs last 4 games.
RBRashad JenningsPhi @ NYG3700Averaging 15.8 FPP last 3 games. At home against a bad defense with no head coach, RJ will see good ownership this week.
RBDarren McFaddenWas @ Dal4900Averaging 103 yds last 3 games at home against a defense giving up 124 yds/game when their starters aren't resting (which they will be with playoff seeding locked for WSH).
WRJulio JonesNO @ Atl8500Consecutive monster games and now he faces the dumpster fire that is the Saints secondary. 13 targets/game and only 6 games scoring less than 20 FPP. Home finale after popping the champagne for the '72 Dolphins. Consider this: JJ is 243 yards shy of the season record going against a CB that gave up 151 last week.
WRDeAndre HopkinsJax @ Hou8400Texans still need to win to clinch the South. DAH has 100 yards from 4 different QBs this year and gets Hoyer back this week.
WREric DeckerNYJ @ Buf6500Stacking with Fitz. Decker has double-digit FPP every week this year. Total # of weeks without a TD for Decker? Only 3.
TEGary BarnidgePit @ Cle4700An offense that doesn't know that checkdowns are supposed to be the last resort, not a primary option, Austin Davis should keep Barnidge busy. Double-digit FPP 5 straight weeks before Manziel's 13 total completions performance last week.
FLEXJames WhiteNE @ Mia5000The Pats should be angry after a loss and Miami's bad D is especially vulnerable to pass-catching RBs.
DSTTitansTen @ Ind2500Indy's 29th ranked offense passes better than they run, but they're rolling with a lame duck coach and 4th string QB. Save some money & punt with a good matchup.
