Johnny G’s 2015 Valspar Championship Fantasy Golf Picks & Preview

Last week’s fantasy golf recap:  Again, another below average performance in the league.  Not even a single contender at Doral within my 4 golfers.  Oh well, let’s move on to this week at another Florida PGA Tour stop.  On to the preview below:

This Week’s Valspar Championship Fantasy Golf Picks

1. Lee Westwood – In his typical getting prepared for The Master’s fashion, Lee likes to warm up in tournaments like these. He is not overly concerned about his finish, which makes me like him even more. He will play loose and should make some birdies this week.

2. Jim Furyk – Always near the top of the leaderboard, but has trouble closing as of late. Some say he is getting too old to win another major, but doing so would make him a lock for the Golf Hall of Fame.  In the meantime, expect a top 5 from Srixon’s major player.

3. Adam Scott – Will he stick with the short putter for now?  Played rather well last week, but putting was streaky. Some forget that he came on tour with a short putter.  In all reality, these guys are so good I don’t think it really matters. Scott could win this week if he can keep his momentum from Doral going.

4. Sam Saunders –  Almost won down in Puerto Rico last week and should give Saunders some momentum this week at the Valspar Championship. A very good overall player, it must be hard living up to his Granddad.  I like a top 10 this week.

In other news, Arnold Palmer is recovering from a fall he suffered a few months back.  As one of the most famous golfers of all time, he is trying his hardest to be ready to hit the honorary tee shot at August next month.  If I had to bet, Arnie would tee off one handed if he had to.

Johnny Giovonni

Hi, my name is Johnny Giovonni. I am in the financial services industry and own my own business on the side. I work too much and golf too little. That is why I helped create this site, so I could at least have the dream of golfing everyday. Also, I am a huge numbers person and have researched many advanced gaming theories and other nerd stuff like the Rule of 72 and Benford's Law. When I am not working I am either golfing, watching sports, or researching statistics for my weekly and daily fantasy picks. I am under full belief there is an enormous advantage to be had with information when picking your lineups every week. I hope to bring that knowledge to this website. I look forward to writing and responding to your comments. Check out some of our course reviews, fantasy sports picks and as always, provide any feedback!
